The Banned Movie in Malaysia

I recalled a movie list of mine which I have long forgotten  until I saw in Facebook another movie <Banglasia> which has been banned for more than a year, by Namewee. He was trying to raise fund for his movie to be published online as several ways has been tried to get through the government sector but failed.

So in case of anyone read this blog, well, not much people did I suppose, then if he/she is interested to support then they can do their part to watch the banned movie. 

I am not a fan of him, but the banned movie of <Banglasia> has reminded me of one small little to-do list.

Back to the memory land, it has been almost 10 years I have been writing blogs, from the sharing with friends about our stories, then use this blog as a communication and updates to my lecturer during my student exchange program, then the blog has become not so active as I am trying to focus on my studies and also to live my life, while I am also facing a question, what to share, what not to share. 

Life, seems like tough, everyone is working hard to earn for living. Everyone of us faced hard time in life. I like to talked to different people at different stage and places, a few years back, I remember clearly it was during my third year, during my internship, during the age I finally turn 21 year-old, that I finally can consider myself as an adult. 

That year, 2013, was it 5th May? It was the last big gathering with my friends at the hometown, most of my friends, who were still studying, study at different places, everyone were so excited to go home, everyone back home for a reason: to vote for our 13th Election. 

I went home too, although I didn't vote, I have not yet register as a voter, I have no right to vote. That time, I was still trying to figure out myself, whether I shall thank to the opportunity that I have been given, that I am in the university, study my first choice of courses. Or I shall try for a change, a change of the whole politic situation at Malaysia. 

That year, although I was not able to vote, but it was the first time in my life, I feel so close to the election, I feel so close to the people not for the races, because it was my first job in the industry, before that I have not talk enough to the people, I was still in my tower, trying to gain knowledge from reading, from books instead of the over expose internet. 

Well, the situation did change since then, situation has become from worse to worst? I am not so sure still. I am still too young and naive to judge. What I learnt after this, I have register as voter for the next election: it is just a simple step, where you can just go to any post office to register.

Let's move back to the the long forgotten movie, I found it when a few months later, I go back to university, I am still wondering around the bookstore for books and I saw 《新村》 (The New Village), I take up the book and then I got excited that it will become a movie, a movie that records our history and we are so close with it.

Simply as I am a Chinese, come from a new village. So instead of buying the book, I decided to wait for the movie to go support. The movie was scheduled to be on the cinema in 22nd Aug 2014, and I decided that I can watch it to celebrate my birthday. See post about the scheduled date.

Finally the day has come, but the show is not up as scheduled. So I thought that it has face a little problem when pass through the government agency, so I thought to wait for a while more to watch for the show. A while more, it has been more than a year. It still yet to have any updated news about this at ALL!

Maybe sometime later I will forgot about the movie <The New Village> again, or if I remember, I shall go to the bookstore and get the book to read since there is no date and news about it to be show in cinema. 

We are Malaysian, we are supposed to be united and to help, whether how tiny is the words, I just feel like to write it down today, as a thought of support  the word: FREEDOM to SPEAK.
