Yesterday, I had a one day trip with the graduates here to Kluang, Johor.
My target was to go for UK Farm as people mentioned to me that it is recommended place to visit in Johor. So, after officially one year here, I finally make the plan works to go with few of my buddies here.
Senior from Kluang tell me a few new places that I can consider there, which is at a cheaper price than UK Farm: Zenxin Organic Park and Gunung Lambak. After discuss with my travel mates, we decided to go for Zenxin and UK Farm.
It is about one hour from Johor to Kluang, we depart at 8 in the morning. Reached Zenxin at 9.30 am, the weather is good, so we go to rent bicycle there. The feeling is good but the bicycle is not really well maintained and also the road is a little challenge for us to cycle.
Anyway, the feeling of riding a bicycle is good, enjoying the winds and finally get to see the growth of the vegetable and fruits that we used to eat. One thing which is not so good for me is the ants there kept bite me whenever I step on the ground. Ouch! Jumping up and down to get rid of them.
My dad used to tell me story in the past for his young time. He was once a farmer with my grandpa in Kulai for almost a year. Finally a better picture I can get for what he has describe. I am sure he will like this place! Or will give comments on the way and which is the better way!
At the organic park, we saw a garden for herbs, trying to recognize those familiar plants. I missed daddy again, in the appreciation mood that what he had taught me.The mushroom house is a little disappointing, there is empty inside, the worker there told us that it is a little too expensive to grow them.
Until about 11 am, the Sun starts to get too hot and the feeling of burning our skin.
Before leaving the park, we had our lunch there, the entrance fee to rent bicycle is RM 15 per person, which also includes RM 5 restaurant voucher.
The food looks really healthy, I had marmite chicken set meal and mulberry juice with honey. Yummy!
Next station we heading to UK Agro Resort, didn't expect the road condition. I feel sorry for my friend's car to be use for the journey. >.< Anyway, the place is more organized than Zenxin as there is a few station has been scheduled for us to visit the place. The price is consider high for me, that I will only come once even after so many people recommend the place before.
My friends tease at me saying that they don't know what is in this farm and from my conversation I only kept mentioned about goats and sheep. I got to admit that I only knows about these two creatures there only. Hahahahaha. So the trip is to visit my "long lost sibling" the Kambing~~ Mehhhhh~~~~
At there I became part time translator to Bariqi, the tour guide are mainly explaining in Chinese, maybe it is what their main customer used to be.
We had a pack of grass to feed the adult goats and also goats milk for the baby goats. They demonstrate how they get goat milk, while us, a bunch of food industry newbies is busy criticize of the way of working. Laughed and laughed. We get to try the goat milk and I bought the ice cream, but the ice cream is already flavored with vanilla, chocolate or strawberry.
At this moment, I slightly disappointed when compared to my Taiwan trip in 2013 at Qingjing. There definitely a bigger farm and I am so excited with the sheep show. I even bought a sheep that can tear off the skin. Hahaha. And if not remember it wrong, the ticket is much cheaper than this. >.<
After say hello to my species, the remaining attractions is just not really attractive to me already. Haha. There got ostrich (only one left, a lonely one). Back to last visit at Desaru, we had seen more than hundreds of it. Then turkey. A jakun village.
The lonely Ostrich
and there is "jakun" living at the tree.
The mushroom house here is better than the one in Zenxin, with the growth of Oyster Mushroom and also Lingzhi. The entrance ticket aloud us to have mushroom snack per person. I imagine it as the deep fried mushrooms. But end up it is 2 types that we has to choose, pickled mushroom or lingzhi drink.
So end up the estimated 3 hours journey we managed to finish in 2 hours.
See the timing is still early so we can have a visit to the famous kopi, Kluang Railway Coffee. I am not the coffee lover but I am surrounded by a few coffee addicts, they kept got people recommend the coffee to me. Since the time is still early, we decided to go to the railway station to get a cup of coffee.
It is really good taste of coffee. Debera cannot stand the bitter taste of the coffee, while the rest of us find the coffee really worth for visit, with addition to its roasted bun. Debera had its half-boiled eggs too.
The journey was not perfectly planned and there is some disappointing part along the journey. But it was a satisfying one for me to know the people more and create our memories at this city. Five of us are from different states and work in different department in this company. It is fate (badminton) that let us have the chance to know each other. We never know who is the next one to say goodbye and so we can only promise to each other at this moments is we will sure meet again in the future!
I am glad to know these people in my first job. (v)(^. .^)(v)
à bientôt!
