MIT Mobility Program

Argh, after so long at here and already so many blog updated, I forgotten the important one!

I haven't introduce my buddy here in the MIT program right? This is the Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand, and this semester we have 12 of us in the food technology joining this program and with such a big amount, for sure, we are not alone!

When we first reach here, we met Kak Alyn from UiTM, she is a final year senior and leaving after a few day she finished with her research here and back to Malaysia already.

So now we are left with 12 student, 3 from Bogol, Indonesia, Laiya, Atiqa, and also Sari, they are the final year students doing final year research at here and doing some course also,

then 9 from Malaysia with 4 from UPM third year students, taking 3 courses, basic technology of food product which is same as us, bakery technology(we wished to take but time clash,T.T ) and also quality characteristic.

and 1 from UiTM, Kak Seri which is another final year student doing only research at here. And she is also one that always bring us around here. hehe

and us 4 from USM (the youngest) among them, as we are the juniors, 2nd year student of food technology.

In here, we can feel that we are really not alone, with gangs of friends and also buddies that are willing to help not to forget, Ajan(lecturers) and P'(elder sister) that always giving us the helping hand. Hope that my 4 months holiday joining this program can be full with memories and experience gains. And I strongly believes that it wont be a Regrets and in fact it would be a memorable one and get an important place in my life that widen my views and also the path of growing up!!

Thai language class

In Mae Fah Luang here we also taking Basic Thai language course hoping that we can adapt the environment and communicate with the other easier. We study from the really beginning, the alphabet and pronounce sound but mind that not the hand-writing in Thai yet.

And what we learn this week is the body part. and end up we have this--->

=='' can u imagine it is out from our hand? haha.. everyone of us draw one of the parts and then combine become like this.. 

First time when we enter the class it is really frighten us as our Ajan (lecturer) cant really speak in English, but slowly we are really fall in love with this class, it is really fun and we enjoy it like we are back to the kindergarten. And yea, have to admit that our Thai level is lower than even kindergarten.

And in this class we get to know more friends from all around different country as the course are given to the international students at here as a compulsory course. We have friends from China, Myanmar, Somalia, Cameron, Indonesia, Japan..  

Cool right?? 

Every thing will have a start and yes, we are on our way to learn the language, at least a little. Thanks also to my friends here that willing to help us and teach us their language too. Khoop- khun-kha (thank you)

basic technology of food product lab 3 soybean

so now here we are Thursday again, which mean this week class end again. Haha. Firstly to talk about our lab class again.

This week we made food product from soybean, which is actually familiar to us also the soy milk and tofu. And I just found out that it is really easy to make the soy milk. The main ingredient is as simple as soy bean only.

 First and foremost, we have to soak the soybean for 6-8hours, then wash it and rinse it.

Then prepare water mix with the soybean and use blender to blend it.

 Next we will use cheesecloth to separate the soy milk and the soybean so that it will be smooth without any residue and this is what we have throw away.. waste hor?? haha

Then boil it and put some sugar depends on how much you want to put

 and the soy milk product is ready to be served. Just let it cool down and done. ^^

Next with the preparation of tofu, I din see it, basically it is just the steps until filter it with cheesecloth just now, then cook it until about 80degree Celsius, add in some salt, we used Mg2SO4 but I guess normal salt also can be use to coagulate it. Then let it cool down again.. then prepare till like this ---->

 To put it layer by layer and press down to squeeze out the water from it..

 then use heavy object to press it down for 20 minutes..

lastly.. turn out, the tofu is done!!

 Then my group member fried it immediately and it is my supper for the day.. hoho..

Thread Ceremony and Kantoke dinner at MFU

It is Sunday again, so fast time pass right? Haha..

So today there are having a special ceremony at Chiang Rai, namely: Thread Ceremony and Kantoke dinner. It is like some kind of prayers for the freshmen. Hmm I am not so sure what is the ceremony. But we get to enter the hall beside the stadium. So I get to take some picture also at here. hehe

so this is the update of the Sunday I think. And yeah! tomorrow is the study day again! woohoo~~

Central plaza and walking street

ok.. I noticed that I am becoming lazy to update my blog already.

Yesterday there is no electricity in the room, so we went out to the library in the morning to online and also try to look for solutions to do our laboratory report. Hmm, ending up still I am not able to finish it as I am not in the mood. But the wifi there is seriously fast. Although that make up the reason why. ^^

Then our activities of the day start after 3pm, we went to the central plaza again. As we enter before already so just to pass the time here, my friends and I just try out the food at here. With taste of too salty or too sweet. haha. Anyway, for the sack of trying local food lo. Actually not bad one. ^^

Then 6pm while waiting for the ''song-teaw'' to come we saw the antique is so cute, and seriously it is full with those trademark of Thailand. Hmm.. These is it--->

then we went to the walking street at the other side. It is like night market at here also. There is really full with food, shirts, souvenirs and anything else. But I just buy a little only. hehe.

when we first enter the place. It is like so empty and we thought that it is close due to the rain. Luckily it is not la.. hehe..

the food is same like other places, so I just took some special for me one. hehe.

haha, do believe your eyes, it is the fried insect at here. the above one is different type of insect available here and the lower one is the insect still alive in the box. It is so yikes..

dont ask me how it is taste like. Because I really dont dare to try it out. *vomiting*

next is this, we saw it is so cute to put in the cup, and since it is so cheap, 1 baht per one.. so we ordered some to try out.. hehe..

 and this is it.. actually just a pudding with coconut taste. Not bad either.. hehe..

so this is my update for my Saturday event. hehe

basic technology of food product laboratory 1

last week is the first time we enter for the basic technology laboratory. And my group made the dragon fruit jam. For me it is a little failure due to the watery structure. But anyway i ate it with the bread. the only part i like is it is not too sweet if compare to the normal jam.

so today we made another food product from vegetable which is KIMCHI!! those who like to watch Korean drama sure see alot of it but not sure whether anyone try it before la.. so I am also din try it before and this is the first time trying to do it.. but actually is not my job la.. i can only help a little due to communication problem. but at least I try to okay? hehe.. 

and this is the product. Not yet try it yet as we need to wait for 1 day for the fermentation to occur. Hmm, hope it is alright la.. but be reminded that this is Kimchi from Thailand not from Korea.. haha.. Blog updated for the basic technology of food product lab.. ^^

Central plaza and the McDonald

so today is the holiday!! where we went through then?

Kak Seri from UiTM invite us to the center plaza at Chiang Rai.. It is the quite far from our university but we still  go using ''song-teow'' the green colour vehicle I shown in the previous blog. 35 baht for a single trip. We know it can be cheaper if we know the Thai language but no choice. And experience wise right? haha.. Because during the return trip the driver want to charge us 40baht per person. but luckily we deal with it again till 35baht la. ^^

so here are we.. Without really know the place and gone. Finally back with One Piece also. >.< Kind of a best memory for us, the MIT Program participants from Malaysia, 9 of us.

First time is totally out of MFU campus. Hoho.. This is the place we went today---->
