Throwback 2019: Moving House

Covid-19 has made everyone's life changes, locked down, face mask, sanitizer and etc.

Not able to go out freely. Locked down a home, then become movement control order. First time in my life, need to go to police station due to the need of returning to hometown. First time in many years, not able to go travel. I even failed to travel to Penang and have cancelled my flight several times. First time, Singapore has become so near yet so far.

Soon, 2020 will be ending.

Look at the brighter side of this year, this year is also first time in our life, we learn to calm down and get to adjust the lifestyle.

I have been moved out from home since university. Has mastered in renting a room. Of course, with my good luck, I have meet many good housemates and roommates in the past, with Daisy being my first chosen roommate during my final year in university and last staying with Thong Thong.

Thanks to my sisters, directly and indirectly, I have settle down in my own property before the lockdown. My sister and brother-in-law have been traveling to JB many times in first half year of 2019 to help me to view houses. And the last one that I chose is also found by sister. I didn't want to view it at first due to the asking price. But after view many and almost give up in buying one due to the view conditions. My sister help me to search online and persuade me to take a look.

Decided to get the apartment in last year June and so first time in my life on the long process of getting a property. Find banker, lawyer etc. Spent my savings. And waited for four months at least.

Not knowing how to design the house, so the best thing is almost everything is already available there. Ready to move in after get the keys. The only thing I do before move in was to go to TNB and the management office, to get the electricity and water. Move in during Nov/Dec 2019.

All things are already in the house. 👼. Oh, the washing machine is the only thing that I need to buy before moving in. After that only start to look at the details. Get my internet supply in Jan after surveying a few and ask opinion from Daisy who stay at the same area. Get a new bed for myself. Get ready for the other two beds ready for rent. Then the lockdown started.

Mar to May, it was a blessed to stay alone in the house, being the most freedom and crazy me. But many friends and colleagues were all keeping an eyes and to message me to ensure I am alright physically and mentally.

Lucky enough, managed to rent it out in May/Jun, so that I am no longer staying alone.

After too long staying at home, so the minor things were all cannot be unseen. Changed the fan due to it turn slower and slower until no longer moving. Changed the dining table from round to rectangular. This is thanks to the home office based, the round table has become very inconvenience as the pens keep dropping. Thong also give a good inspiration on upgrading the home, I changed my kitchen table top from black to whitish using the adhesive and waterproof wall paper. so it looks brighter.

The only issue with the home is not bright enough as most of it is the warm light. 😂

And now, still in the progress of decluttering, after a year moving to this house, put on Carousell due to too much furniture at home.

Managed to sell one of the sofa out and it now safe and sound in its new home.

Times flies, now it is already a year in this house! Due to the lockdown, I really appreciate the home environment that I have. It is not the best, but blessed enough to be able to come at such a good timing.

p/s: This is to answer the queries that my colleagues might have in mind. 😂A few of them got shocked that I move out so quickly from Thong house within almost a year and thought we had a big fight staying together.

With the fact that I still occasionally still go to her house staying overnight to get to play the Nintendo games or before the hiking morning since I moved out last year. XDDD

Explore in Seri Alam Jungle Park

Late post again, thanks to the laziness.

Now that no where can go. Midnight come to moody again. So lets update the blog.

After many attempts of Mount Pulai hiking, recently we feel lazy to travel to Pulai hence we been trying to explore different ones over last few months.

Here is one and only after Elephant Hill, Seri Alam Jungle Park. Heard that the Blue Lake is somewhere around too.

17 Oct 2020 - Blue sky always make a good photo.

It was our first time visiting the Jungle Park.
We chose to go on Saturday morning, where we can follow the crowds to enter the jungle.

HERE is where the people lead us to and hike up.
We get shocked because it was really steep and slippery,

We have to hold tight to the rope and hike up.
Especially at the top, I lost my focus and don't know how to land,
hence scratched my hand.

Within 5-10 min, you can reach the first checkpoint.

We get phobia with the steep road but dont know how to go down using another path as it was our first visit. So we follow others again.

Luck was not at our side this time, they actually go to another hill.
There is a big rock climbing and it look scary to walk down from there,
we decided not to go up and try to find our way down again.

We follow the path back to the first checkpoint, and finally saw Angie!
I did inform Angie that we are coming here to try the route in that morning.

However, she took the longer path to go up, that's why we didn't meet.
She wanted to go to see the next view point.
So we got to wait for her to come down and lead us.
Hence we waited at the checkpoint.

Saw a video which introduce the route says this is a golden rock~

To show that we really wait and growing mushroom.
Get a few attempt but failed.

Finally, Angie is back!

We continue our journey to explore. Then we got lost.

Angie found that we went to a path that is different from where she came up when we crossed a bridge.
We ask the people who passed by, she told us that we can follow the route and go to the next checkpoint- The Green Tunnel.

With the trust to the human and the fact that the hill is not that high,
we continue to the direction that showed by the lady.

Walk passed a palm tree plantation and found a good scene.

And yay! we successfully reach to the Green Tunnel!!!

Try to get a jumping style but too bad it is blurry.

End of the explore and now it comes the raining season of the year
and also another lockdown.

Ex landlord been complaining my photography skills has become worse since not travel. However she doesn't know that my photography indeed bad, only that during travel, visiting good scenery, any angle will look nice easily.

Let me emo emo 就好。
Hope that everyone be safe and we can travel out soon!

Throwback 2019: Feb Trip to visit Elizabeth at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

I realized I haven't been updating my blog in 2019, which means a good thing, I have been living my life hard and no time for it.

2019 was indeed a good one, with tones of memories and travel.

Last year valentine's day, I kidnapped someone's girlfriend to Kota Kinabalu, to meet my long lost buddy, Eli. It is my second trip to Kota Kinabalu.

Eli is my university first room mate, course mate and makan buddy for the four years. Having a friend who enjoy food is indeed a blessing. You will not feel guilty when eating with her. We have a few food trips together, in Penang of course. I also travel with her at Melaka, Kota Kinabalu, KL, and Langkawi if I remember correctly. Eat too much until I feel guilty. Forcing her to go jogging with me during that time, but end up we still eat more than we workout. Life is just as simple, laughing at one another. I remember I used to tease her and another coursemate. XDDDDDD

After graduate, she returned to her hometown, and the once computer addict vanished in our life, not reachable in Facebook and Instagram, what is more worrying, she even not having access to WhatsApp! For sometime, some gatherings with friends will also talk about her, as no one able to contact her.

I forgot after how long the situation goes, she finally contacted me. Then, I keep telling her that if she is not coming to visit me in West Malaysia, I am going to fly to KK.

Another crazy university friend of mine, Sue Anne, who is not my roommate, nor coursemate, is the one got kidnapped from last year valentine. I actually joked to her that since both of us are single (when we decided the trip), then lets go somewhere during the valentine. Then she got coupled!

14th Feb 2019:
Since drag her during valentine, so we get ourselves a romantic place for dinner during valentine.
The harbourfront is indeed a good place

15th Feb 2019
The next day, we went for a tour package day trip to the Mount KK, stop by at the Upside Down House, Desa Dairy Farm (really got the feel of New Zealand!),and go to the little part of the National Park but not for the hiking just some intro about the flora and fauna there.

At night, we walk around the local market below our hostel and get to enjoy some local music which reminds me of my secondary school time on the Caklempong and Gamelan.

16th Feb 2019:

Eli come and join us and we revisit the place we went before. Monsopiad Cultural Village and Lok Kawi Wildlife park. Back in uni time, there is no GrabCar around, I remember that it is much more expensive to take a taxi or it will be really troublesome to take a local bus to travel. Now with the ease of the Grab, we travel at much more convenient way.

It is however, not as happening as I could remember.
Monsopiad Cultural Village : http://www.monsopiad.org/aboutus.asp
Good as in it is not that much of crowds compared to the other cultural village and at a much cheaper price. We did get the chance to walk around and try around the games. It took much shorter time as there is a little quiet on the day we visit.

Another place is the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, I cannot find the official webpage. But I am surprised to see all the bad reviews on the Trip Advisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Attraction_Review-g4340243-d1823791-Reviews-Lok_Kawi_Wildlife_Park-Penampang_Sabah.html#REVIEWS

We came here to see the Orang Utan, there are a few other animals and we managed to spend a few hours here and excited as a school kids.

To end the day, we went to the Tanjung Aru Beach for the Sunset, and get the BBQ chicken wings.

17th Feb 2019
Eli brought us to get the ferry to the beach within KK, we found a lot of diff package to the beach and I forgotten how we choose at the end, we went to three beaches if not mistaken. It was a good day to get sunbath. But Sue Anne get bored with both Eli and me didnt really want to get wet in the water.

Not to forget the usual routine of my travel journey, to eat the local cuisine.

For some I forgotten the name.

Tuaran Noodle

 Laksa

Mixed Beef Noodle,

Sabah ShengRou Mee (生肉面)

and dont know which ethnic traditional meal.

Last but not least, to end the post, my buddy tam chiak face when she finally see the food! And we end up play a lot of times of monopoly and the birthday girl kept getting the birthday card for us to pay her!
